Nuclear Safety Associates (NSA), an engineering and technical services firm, announced earlier this month that it appointed Elizabeth Saris to serve as Vice President of Operations of the company’s Strategic Development section.

Saris served most recently as Senior Vice President for Leidos — the defense company formerly known as SAIC — where she stood at the helm of the company’s nuclear weapons and nonproliferation, federal and commercial environment and civil infrastructure business.

NSA CEO Robert Frost said he is confident Saris will prove herself to be a valuable asset to the NSA team as the company embarks on a plan to double its revenue over the course of the next three years.

“Liz brings a powerful set of skills and experience that will help us to expand our footprint and further build our operations,” Frost said. “Liz’s breadth of knowledge in running organizations and her proven leadership in bringing about strategic growth will be major factors in contributing to the success of NSA’s strategic plan.”

The Charlotte, N.C.-headquartered NSA also announced earlier this month it will be purchased by UK-based Atkins plc.

The deal — which is subject to regulatory approval and expected to close within the next few months — would position NSA to operate with its corporate identity under the Atkins brand.

Saris said she is pleased to join the company:

“NSA has done terrific work and has an excellent reputation for its innovative solutions and high level of client satisfaction,” Saris said.  She continued,  “The company’s long term potential is enormous and helping it reach that potential is exactly what I love to do.”
