The Small and Emerging Contractors Advisory Forum (SECAF) Tuesday announced the finalists for its sixth annual Government Contractor Awards gala set for May 1 at the Hilton McLean in Tysons Corner.
The gala honors emerging and small and emerging government contractors and those who support and rely upon small business.
SECAF chairman, Kwesi Rogers, the president of Federal National Commercial Credit, said the awards align with the group’s mission to provoke government contractors to achieve their full growth potential in a competitive marketplace.
“These awards were developed to highlight companies within our community that continually and consistently put forth tremendous effort and generate results that benefit the entire government contractor community,” Rogers said. “The companies selected are very much deserving of the recognition we are honored to bestow upon them.”
SECAF provides smaller contractors with access to influences, government agencies, business resources and advocacy opportunities. The group selected five company finalists for each of the six award categories.
The Government Contractor of the Year award was divided into revenue categories — from companies making less than $6 million in revenue to those making $12 to $25 million — to recognize those companies which have shown a commitment to excellence in financial performance.
The Award of Excellence honors the company that SECAF deems to have represented excellence within the government contracting industry, within their communities and towards employees.
The Government Project of the Year award will go to a company that has delivered a valuable program to the federal government.
Lastly, the Small Business Partner of the Year award each year recognizes a company that has proven itself as a collaborator — establishing and supporting mentorships, teaming and partnering.
Award winners will be announced at the gala in May.
