In case you missed it: ECS Federal last week named George Wilson Chief Executive Officer of the professional services firm. Wilson served most previously as President of the company since January 2012 and succeeds owner, founder and former CEO Roy Kapani in his new post.
Dr. Todd Villines of the American Heart Association (AHA) also spoke to WashingtonExec last week in an exclusive interview about the DC Heart Ball set to take place this upcoming Saturday. Villines is a military cardiologist and President-Elect of the AHA,Greater Washington Region Board of Directors.
We also heard last week from NovaSEC! — a technical gatherings group for security professionals — about a Pre-RSA Rally set to take place Feb. 19 in McLean, Va. The rally promises to bring together for networking security professionals before industry professionals head to San Francisco for RSA — the largest security conference in the U.S.
In other news, Andrew Sherman — an adjunct professor in the MBA programs at The University of Maryland and Georgetown University — at the end of January spoke in a TEDx talk about how much he hates waste. We covered the talk last week entitled “Harvesting Intangible Assets”. Read more about the talk here and about the 26 books Sherman has authored.
