Doug Charles joined Korn Ferry in December as President for the Americas, a top leadership and talent consulting services firm. Charles most recently served as CEO of Capgemini Government Solutions.
The executive in his new role will oversee more than 20 offices to drive and integrate client strategy within the Americas geography, which he said will increase his travel considerably.
Korn Ferry casts itself as a firm which designs, builds, attracts and ignites talent to fill the needs of clients wishing to develop leaders in their organization.
“We are seeing a renewed focus of companies investing in their people, not just technology, to compete effectively,” Charles said, noting the increased responsibilities that come with his new role. “My travel will increase considerably as we have over 20 offices throughout the Americas where I will be working with over 1200 resources to help our clients build an organization that truly makes a difference.”
The move comes just under a year after Charles was appointed CEO of Capgemini Government Solutions in January 2013 where he drove strategy and growth in the areas of unemployment insurance, consulting services, business information and independent verification and validation. Charles was at Capgemini for 15 years under a number of executive roles, including leading the North American National Industry Groups and President of Capgemini’s Government Solutions business.
“Doug is a global leader with a proven career path of significantly growing complex professional services businesses,” said Korn Ferry CEO Gary Burnison in a Korn Ferry press statement released in December. “Doug has the right skill set, is a great cultural fit and has both the vision and the acumen to help us accelerate our trajectory as we assist clients in maximizing their talent as a competitive advantage.”
