Aerospace and defense advisory firm Renaissance Strategic Advisors, based in Washington, D.C. and London, has announced Brett B. Lambert as its newest Executive in Residence. Brett has 25 years of experience in the defense and intelligence sector and most recently served as the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Manufacturing and Industrial Base Policy.
He served as the principal advisor to the Undersecretary of Defense for Acquisition, Technology and Logistics on matters relating to the defense industrial base; mergers and acquisitions, preservation of essential industries and technologies and industrial capabilities and assessments.
In 2011, Lambert led President Barack Obama’s Department of Defense effort to establish the first National Network for Manufacturing Innovation site.
“Brett is a fantastic addition to the team. He is well-respected in the industry for knowledge of the sector, a thoughtful approach and insights,” said Pierre Chao, cofounder and managing partner of Renaissance Strategic Advisors. “What’s particularly exciting is how well his expertise and past experience spans across the entirety of our strategy, market insight, due diligence and transaction support offerings.”
Lambert said, “The next few years will be truly transformational for companies in our industry. I cannot be more pleased to join RSAdvisors as both industry and the DoD work through the changes and challenges they face. RSAdvisors is an amazing organization which adds significant benefit to our industrial base and I’m very pleased to be part of the team.”
In 2011, Lambert was awarded the Secretary of Defense Medal for Outstanding Public Service. Two years later, he was awarded the Secretary of Defense Medal for Distinguished Public Service, the highest award from the secretary available to a non-career civilian. That same year, Lambert was awarded the National Defense Industrial Association Gold Medal, the highest honor awarded by the industry organization with more than 1,700 corporate and 80,000 private members.
Before joining the DoD, Lambert spent 20 years helping build and grow DFI International, a national security consultancy. He ultimately held the titles of Executive Vice President of DFI International and Managing Director of DFI Investment Partners.
