Fluor Corporation (FLR) has appointed William C. Bodie to join the company’s Government Group (FGG) as Senior Vice President of Business Development leading sales, marketing and communications for the group.

“We are very pleased that Bill will be joining Fluor and combining his considerable public sector experience with Fluor’s broad portfolio of U.S. government projects,” said Dave Dunning, group executive for Global Business Development & Strategy. “Bill’s expertise in the government business development arena is exactly what we need at this point to help achieve our top line growth objectives for the Government Group.”

Bodie is a recognized leader in all aspects of business development, strategic communications, and public affairs. Prior to joining Fluor, Bodie served as Executive Vice President and global business development manager of Parsons Government Services.

“Bill is known and respected within both the Department of Defense and the Department of Energy as an innovator and forward thinker,” said Bruce Stanski, president of Fluor’s Government Group. “He understands our customers, their challenges and what they need to achieve success. Bill will be integral to our efforts to develop solutions that deliver even greater value and cost savings to our customers across the government.”

He has held a number of executive positions in the Department of Defense and defense industry, including serving as Special Assistant to the Secretary of the U.S. Air Force and Director of Communications at Northrop Grumman Corporation. He also served in the U.S. government as a Senior Fellow at the National Defense University’s Institute for National Strategic Studies, where he directed research on national security institutions in Russia and other former Soviet republics. Bodie holds a master’s degree in politics from New York University and a bachelor’s degree in history from Columbia University.
