    This week, we caught up with Karen Trowbridge, Founder, President and CEO of Trowbridge & Trowbridge. Having started her firm at age 26, Trowbridge discussed where her entrepreneurial drive came from, the Women of the Small Business (WOSB) community and the lessons she’s learned since starting her business.     We also featured Keith Masback, CEO of the United States Geospatial Intelligence Foundation (USGIF). Masback let us in on what to expect at the 10th Annual GEOINT Symposium. About 4,000 attendees are expected at the event, being held October 13th-16th in Tampa Bay, Fla. This year’s theme is “Operationalizing Intelligence for Global Intelligence” and speakers for GEOINT 2013 include Jim Clapper, Director of U.S. National Intelligence, Tish Long, Director of the National Geospatial Intelligence Agency (NGA) and Betty Sapp, Director of the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO).     Nina Rees, President and CEO of the National Alliance for Public Charter Schools, recently spoke with us. She discussed the charter school movement and how vital STEM education is for students. Read more on Rees here.

    In other news, registration is open for the National Center for Women & IT’s Award for Aspirations in Computing and CEO of Sally Ride Science Sheryle Bolton will lead the 2013 STEM Council Meeting.

    Also in this week’s news, SOS International appointed Dr. John Hillen Chairman of the Board of Advisors. Dr. Hillen, former President and CEO of Sotera, will continue to serve as Vice Chairman for the Board of Advisors at Sotera.

    The Library of Congress Awarded INDUS Corporation a five-year IT contract and CACI Executive Chairman and Chairman of the Board Dr. Jack London released a new book.
