STG, Inc. (STG) has today announced its hiring of Bill Perlowitz as Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer. Perlowitz will be responsible for the conception, development, and implementation of STG’s technical vision, communities of practice, and solutions.

He will also manage STG’s team of solution architects as well as the internal information technology and process departments while leveraging technical experts throughout the organization to deliver high-value, low-risk mission solutions.

“Mr. Perlowitz brings more than 30 years of dynamic technical and management leadership in support of Federal departments and agencies,” said Tom Anderson, COO of STG. “He possesses outstanding strategic and tactical skills and extensive expertise in developing and delivering service offerings that align technology with mission-critical objectives.”

Prior to joining STG, Perlowitz served as Chief Technologist of Wyle’s Science, Technology, and Engineering Group. He also served as Vice President of Advanced Technology at URS Apptis, CTO of Reliable Integration Services, and had worked for United Technologies Sikorsky Aircraft and IBM’s Federal Sector Division.

“We are excited to have Bill join STG and strengthen our position to meet the growing technology needs of our customers,” said Simon Lee, chairman and CEO of STG. “Through his leadership, he will encourage innovative solutions to the most challenging missions that STG supports throughout the Federal Government today and in the years to come.”

Last year, we conducted an interview with Perlowitz and he discussed the risks of securing big data as well as many other topics. To read our interview, click here.

We also caught up with Perlowitz at the launch of TechAmerica’s “Demystifying Big Data” Report in October 2012.
