Former CEO of Eloqua, Joe Payne has joined TrackMaven’s Board of Directors. TrackMaven founder Allen Gannett said on his blog that in order to build a great company, “you need to first build a team of only the best.”

“There are few people who know marketing technology as well as Joe Payne, and we are ecstatic about adding him to our Board of Directors,” said Gannett.

He added, “There are few people that are more well-versed in marketing technology and the mechanics of SaaS companies. We’re excited to have him help us shape the future of real time marketing intelligence.”

TrackMaven is a Competitive Intelligence Platform for Enterprise Marketers. The firm gives its customers insight into what their competitors are doing across paid, owned, and earned sources, how they compare, and how they can improve.

The company launched this past May and is already receiving lots of buzz, while also generating a list of customers including Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia to La-Z-Boy Furniture.

“Every CMO needs Trackmaven. Marketers are under pressure to track, benchmark, and improve their marketing across an ever expanding number of channels in real-time. TrackMaven tells marketers what their competitors are doing and allows brands to improve their marketing in real-time,” said Joe Payne. “I am excited to work with Allen and his team as they pioneer this exciting market.”

In 2012, Payne sold Eloqua to Oracle for nearly $1 billion.
