NTT DATA, Inc. today announced today it has signed an agreement with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) to improve IT processes and efficiency. The contract is currently for five years with the option for a two year extension.
NTT DATA will provide support for application maintenance and development, end user support, and service desk support. The firm will also provide network and telecommunications systems support and IT security.
“We are excited about our partnership with TxDOT and look forward to leveraging our expertise and rich history for high-quality services to help this agency meet its long-term goals,” said John McCain, president and CEO of NTT DATA, Inc. “We share a common objective with TxDOT to bring improved services to its employees and the citizens of the state of Texas.”
NTT DATA responsibilities include modernizing the processes and technologies required to support current and future TxDOT business operations. The company will also help to unlock inefficiencies and allow the agency to reinvest savings into other strategic priorities. Ultimately, TxDOT aims to be better positioned to meet legislative demands and respond more quickly with innovative services for their constituents.
“TxDOT has an opportunity to have a robust and modern IT environment that will make us more productive and provide the necessary tools and capabilities for our team to be successful,” said Phil Wilson, executive director of TxDOT. “We believe this new partnership will make TxDOT IT more efficient, so we can better serve our employees, the taxpayers, and the state of Texas. NTT DATA is the right partner given their track record of innovation in the public and private sector.”
All current TxDOT IT employees will be offered positions in NTT DATA or in a TxDOT IT organization. The employees transitioning will join over 60,000 NTT DATA Group employees in more than 35 countries around the world; with North American headquarters in Plano, Texas.
