The 23rd Annual Community Service and Scholarship Awards dinner will be taking place Friday, April 19th at the McLean Hilton in Tysons Corner. For the third year, the event will pay tribute to individual and corporate achievements in the science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).
The Northern Virginia Urban League will be sponsoring this year’s event, and scholarships will be presented to outstanding students graduating from Northern Virginia High Schools. Over the past 10 years, the dinner’s proceeds have helped to raise over $500,000 in scholarships for area youth.
The event will also recognize Boeing as one of the Top 100 Global Innovators along with their commitment to increasing the number of minority students aspiring STEM careers.
Dr. Randal Pinkett, co-founder, chairman and CEO of BCT Partners, will share his background which includes his time and win on season four of NBC’s The Apprentice, and discuss how he led his team to a billion dollars in federal contracts.
The black tie-optional event will feature special guest Marc H. Morial, president and CEO of the National Urban League.
