Join the AFCEA Bethesda in celebrating its 15th annual Children’s Inn Gala, which raises fund for the residential healing center located at the National Institutes of Health. The gala will be held on March 23 at the Marriott Washington Wardman Park.The Children’s Inn is a residential “place like home” that provides a rest haven for sick children and their families to reside while the child receives care from the experienced team of doctors at NIH, a leader in biomedical research. This gala is the largest fundraiser for the Inn, contributing more than 11 percent to the Inn’s annual budget.Award-winning journalist and author Cokie Roberts, who serves as the Secretary of the Board of Directors for The Children’s Inn, will act as Master of Ceremonies. Roberts is a Morning Edition contributor for National Public Radio, as well as the NIH news analyst for ABC News.For those interested in supporting the Children’s Inn who cannot attend the Gala, AFCEA Bethesda will hold two raffles for trips to either Barcelona or London. The trip to Barcelona includes a 6-night stay at the Hotel Arts, a Ritz-Carlton hotel, as well as airfare for two and daily breakfast.The trip to London includes a 5-night stay at The London Churchill, a Hyatt Regency hotel, airfare for two and two tickets to a choice of two West End theatre shows. Both trips offer complimentary booking service.
