The annual Federal Mobile Computing Summit was held on January 23 this year, bringing together leaders in government and business to discuss digital strategy at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center.

Dr. Rick Holgate and Mobilegov President Tom Suder co-chaired the Federal Mobile Computing Summit and Technology Showcase. Panel topics at the Summit included bring-your-own-device policies, mobile health, and security and privacy issues (FedRAMP). Federal contracting firms were also on hand to showcase their innovations.

WashingtonExec was a media sponsor of the event, and spoke with a few companies about how they’re innovating mobility for the federal space.

One of the applications INADEV Corporation showcased was the disaster assistance request application developed for FEMA. The app makes it so citizens can use their mobile device to apply for FEMA assistance. Ferhan Hamid, CEO of INADEV, shared his thoughts with us:

“What makes INADEV unique is our track record of cost-effectively developing sophisticated mobile solutions that deliver big results for government agencies. The disaster assistance application we helped developed for FEMA has been used successfully by thousands of citizens to get access to FEMA’s disaster response capabilities during events such as the Joplin tornado disaster and is still in use today. We were an integral part of a team that developed an app for the Social Security Administration that allows beneficiaries to report their wages, which has increased convenience to the customer and decreased improper payments. We also offer a wide portfolio of mobile testing, responsive web design, mobile device management and custom engineering solutions.”
