    Sheryl Schwartz Accepts Blue Canopy, LLC’s Win for Contractor of the Year at 10th Annual GovCon Awards

    The 10th Annual Greater Washington Government Contractor Awards took place November 1st at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel in Washington, D.C. The Fairfax County Chamber of Commerce, Professional Services Council (PSC), and Washington Technology magazine presented the awards.

    Blue Canopy, LLC won Contractor of the Year in the $25 million to $75 million division. Sheryl Schwartz, Managing Partner, Chief Operating Officer, and Chief Administrative Officer at Blue Canopy, accepted the award on behalf of the company.

    Fresh off her win, Schwartz told WashingtonExec,  “It is humbling to win the Industry’s highest honor. A big congratulations to the Blue Canopy professionals for their relentless commitment to innovation, quality, and their clients’ mission. Our gratitude goes out to the community for recognizing a Woman Owned Small Business this year. We hope this will encourage more woman entrepreneurs to assume leadership roles and continue to have an impact.”

    Schwartz’s husband, Brad Schwartz, President and CEO of Blue Canopy, LLC, won Entrepreneur of the Year at E&Y earlier this summer. Read our coverage of the event, and more about this local power couple here.

    CSSI, Inc., Engineering Serivces Network (ESN), Inc., Fulcrum IT Services, LLC, Invertix Corporation were also nominated in the $25-$75 million division.
