Suzan Zimmerman, Senior Vice President of Corporate Business Development at QinetiQ North America, has been promoted to expand her role within the company in the areas of strategic relationships with government and industry partners, large-opportunity capture management, and oversight for bid strategies.

“I’m very excited about Qinetiq North America’s vision for addressing bleeding edge technology in the areas such as Mobile Device Management, IPV6, and Cyber Security Management, just to name a few,” Zimmerman said. “In my opinion, these areas are the most important to the health and welfare of our country!”

Zimmerman will focus on enhancing customer relationships and cultivating industry partnerships in support of QNA’s corporate growth strategy. Prior to joining QinetiQ North America, she was senior vice president at Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) and a specialist at IBM, which had her reporting to then-Secretary of Defense, Dick Cheney, as a member of the Ada Advisory Board in the Pentagon.

Zimmerman was also the public relations director at Wang Laboratories for five years. More recently, she joined the Board of Directors for the State of Virginia as a member of the Economic Development committee, and sits on the Board of Directors for AFCEA International.

Zimmerman earned her Bachelor of Science in economics from Michigan State University. She has spoken with WashingtonExec before as part of execs advice to children series, sons Max and Jake Zimmerman. Her youngest son, Max, got back to us on this advice, and if he’s taking it.
