This October, 1105 Government Information Group has announced it will unveil the rebranding and repositioning of its flagship government trade platforms Federal Computer Week (FCW) and Government Computer News (GCN).
The brands, renamed just by their acronyms, FCW and GCN, will feature a more focused editorial mission, answer government’s call to deliver more customized information, an optimized online experience, and in-depth analysis of trending technologies and industry issues through print, online, tablet and mobile devices.
“GCN and FCW address two different and distinct markets—the broad public sector market of IT professionals (GCN) and the smaller, but very influential, sector of federal technology executives (FCW),” said Jennifer Weiss, Senior Vice President and Group Publisher for FCW and GCN. “Together, they represent the largest buying-sector of technology in the U.S. When used in combination, the new brands offer advertisers complete coverage of both markets and the entire U.S. public sector technology universe.”
FCW will hone its focus on federal executives and program managers and editorially feature more in-depth analysis and commentary on federal policies, procurement and technologies. GCN will broaden its lens to encompass IT professionals across the public sector, adding the K-12 and higher education market to its roster.
FCW and GCN will launch their new websites on Monday, October 15th. Readers should expect a newly designed publications mid-October when the printed issues arrive in offices across the country.
