MacAulay-Brown, Inc. (MacB) announced that it has promoted Jim Soos to Senior Vice President of Corporate Business Development and Communications, reporting directly to MacB President and CEO, Sid Fuchs.

Soos, formerly Vice President of Business Development, replaces Wayne Baumgarten who announced his retirement after 23 years at MacB. Baumgarten will stay on with the company through the end of the year to ensure a smooth transition.

“On behalf of the entire MacB family, I want to thank Wayne for his tireless service to the company,” said Fuchs. “His hard work, dedication and leadership played a major role in the growth and success of MacB. We wish him and his family the best in his retirement.

Since joining MacB in 2007, he has helped lead the business development team, and played an instrumental role in the pursuit and capture of some of our largest clients. Adding Jim’s considerable knowledge of DoD, the IC and Homeland Security agencies to the senior management team’s already considerable bone fides will be helpful to the company as we execute on ourstrategic business plan.”

For more than 30 years, Soos has worked in senior business development and marketing roles in the Defense and Federal contracting community, specializing in the pursuit and capture of major accounts, proposal development, cost estimating and bidding strategies. In his new role, Soos will lead an organization responsible for strategic business development, capture, proposal efforts, marketing campaigns, quality, and standards implementation and external communications.

Before MacB in 2007, Soos lead business development and marketing for an $800 million operating unit of Lockheed Martin, spent 14 years at Sytex (acquired by Lockheed Martin), and worked his way up to Vice President of Marketing and Business Development. He holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from George Washington University in Economics.
