MicroPact, a leader in the development of case and business process management (BPM) software, was selected by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) to implement and configure two new data tracking applications.
The Taxpayer Advocate Service (TAS) and the Office of Safeguards (Safeguards) awarded two contracts valued up to $3.6 million to directly support business needs.
“We are very excited to be continue our long-term relationship with the IRS and to provide them with two additional systems that are mission critical to their business needs,” said Growson Edwards, Senior Vice President, Business Development at MicroPact. “We’ve been working with the IRS for 14 years and with these two new implementations of our entellitrak software we believe we are well positioned to continue to support other large enterprise projects within the IRS.”
MicroPact’s entellitrak software will develop two systems to integrate the current multiplatform system.
Taxpayer Advocate Service Integrated System’s (TASIS) objective is to offer a unified solution for capturing, tracking and resolving taxpayer and tax practitioners advocacy related issues. It will improve and combine the functionality of the current software into a single integrated solution.
By creating entellitrak, TASIS hopes to develop custom Application Programming Interfaces, migrate data from legacy systems and provide system and end-user documentation. Entellitrak will also create user profiles, system roles and permissions, graphic user interfaces, database tables, system alerts and notifications, and extend support for up to 1,600 concurrent users.
The functionality of the current, multiple software applications with a single, integrated solution will better support and manage Safeguards’ growing business needs, including the influx of external and internal stakeholders as a result of the Affordable Care Act legislation.
TASIS and Safeguards contracts in the IRS are managed by the Modernization and Information Technology Services (MITS) group.
