WashingtonExec Summer Reading List Series:

WashingtonExec asked area executives what books are on their summer reading list.

Kate Michael, President and Editor of the online lifestyle magazine K Street Kate, has always been a voracious reader — in fact, she took a platform of Literacy to Miss America when she competed, representing the District of Columbia, in 2007.

Currently, she likes to alternate between fiction and non-fiction, and many of her choices have decidedly Washington subjects or authors:

Dream City: Race, Power and the Decline of Washington, by Harry Jaffe and Tom Sherwood

The President’s Club, by Nancy Gibbs, Michael Duffy

Gilded Age, by Clair McMillan

The RockStar is Seat 3A, by Jill Kargman

Watergate: A Novel, by Thomas Mallon

Game of Thrones, by George R.R. Martin
