Monday, June 4, 2012 marked the official book launch of Get Off The Bench: Unleashing The Power Of Strategic Networking Through Relationships, by Sidney “Sid” E. Fuchs.  The sold-out, invitation-only event brought over 250 senior-level executives in the public and private sectors to The Tower Club Tysons Corner. Fuchs is Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of MacAulay-Brown, Inc. (MacB) as well as Chairman of The Tower Club Tysons Corner.

The brief program began with a few words from Kirsten Edmondson Wolfe of Deltek, platinum event sponsor, who introduced John Hillen, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Sotera Defense Solutions. Hillen gave a lively, comedic and heartfelt introduction of Sid Fuchs.

Sid Fuchs then brought his family on stage as a token of his gratitude for their support, including his wife of 30 years, Susan Fuchs, as well as his three sons, Bill Fuchs (University of Virginia), Bobby Fuchs (Virginia Tech) and Jim Fuchs (Oakton High School).

Fuchs thanked the lively crowd of close friends and colleagues for their support throughout the long process of seeing his book published. Fuchs joked that his wife greatly enjoyed finding mistakes in his many drafts of Get Off The Bench.

Staying true to the book’s emphasis on the importance of cultivating a network and investing in strategic relationships, invitees arrived early and stayed late while celebrating Fuchs’ latest achievement.

Attendees could sign a life-size version of the book cover and everyone left with a complimentary copy of Get Off The Bench.

The event would not have been possible without the support of local sponsors:
