Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) was recognized as a 2012 SmartCEO Volt Leader in Technology by Baltimore SmartCEO magazine, winning the large Technology Innovator category.  SAIC was acknowledge for CyberNEXS, the company’s cyber training, exercising, competition and certification product for protecting critical data assets.

CyberNEXS is at present the only product on the market that offers high fidelity, real-time quantification of performance through a variety of games.  CyberNEXS trains users in the critical cyber security skills of cyber defense, penetration testing and forensics analysis.  It prepares security professionals, network and systems administrators, and students with the skills they need to defend critical IT systems against today’s real-world threats.  CyberNEXS powers competitions around the world.

“We’re thrilled to be recognized as a large technology innovator by Baltimore SmartCEO magazine,” said chief information officer and general manager of SAIC’s Cybersecurity Business Unit, Charles Beard.  “To be awarded this distinction is a true testament to the unique innovation of CyberNEXS, and we’re excited to be honored with some of the most influential technology companies in the region.”

The VOLT Awards recognize the accomplishments of Greater Baltimore’s pioneering Technology Innovators, Technology Implementers and Cyber Warriors.  The finalists are recognized for their company’s creative vision, leadership, philosophies, innovative strategizing and notable work ethic.
