Recently, Citizant announced the appointment of Van Kirstein as the director of business development. Kirstein, who has 14 years of experience supporting federal, state and local government IT programs, will be responsible for generating growth for Citizant throughout the Department of Homeland Security.

Citizant’s Senior VP of sales and marketing Paul Bize said, “I have had the pleasure of working with Van previously at Hewlett Packard Enterprise Services. He is one of the best DHS sales executives I’ve ever met, and I am confident that he will help Citizant establish a solid presence in the homeland security market.”

Kirstein spent five years at Hewlett Packard Enterprise Services as the DHS sales team lead. He was responsible for HP’s corporate strategy regarding DHS and for opening new accounts within DHS. He also previously held management positions at Pearson Government Solutions, Sapient Corporation and Impact Innovation Group, LLC.

Kirstein said, “I am eager to work with this amazing team and hope my experience in government technology solutions can be an asset for both the company and its customers.”

Kirstein studied managing individual and organizational change at the University of Virginia. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in management information systems from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
