Saturday November 19th, 2011 the 31st Annual Kidney Ball, held at the Washington Hilton, raised over $1 million dollars to fight kidney disease.

This year’s event included a four-course dinner, performance by rock-and-roll music group KC and the Sunshine Band, as well as both silent and live auctions.

Washington D.C. has the highest incidence of kidney disease in North America and the annual event continues to make a positive impact. The 2011 Kidney Ball Chairman was George Wilson, Chief Strategy Officer of ECS, Inc. Wilson interviewed with WashingtonExec earlier this year to discuss his decision to chair the gala as well as our nation’s organ donor shortage.

This year’s Kidney Ball honoree was Stuart Marshall Bloch, Chairman of the Board for Congressional Bank. WashingtonExec also interviewed the vibrant kidney recipient earlier this year.
