Last week, the Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) was awarded a follow-on contract by the U.S. Army Materiel Command (AMC). The contract provides maintenance services and ammunition operations to the Department of Defense (DoD). With a contract ceiling of $21 million, the single blanket purchase agreement (BPA) has a year of base period of performance with four one-year options.

“We look forward to continuing our support of AMC and the larger DoD ammunition community by providing the tools necessary to achieve comprehensive ammunition asset and in-transit visibility and management services,” said Glenn San Giacomo, SAIC senior vice president and business unit general manager.

SAIC, a Fortune 500 company, is a leading provider of scientific, engineering and technology applications that use deep domain knowledge to solve problems of significant concern to the nation and the world in national security, energy, environment, critical infrastructure and health. With over 41,000 employees serving the federal government and intelligence community, SAIC had a revenue of $11.1 billion for the last fiscal year. The work for this contract will be performed mainly in Chambersburg, Pa., Alexandria, Va., and Huntsville, Ala.

The Army’s premier provider of materiel readiness, AMC delivers technology, acquisition support, materiel development, logistics power projection and sustainment to the total military force. Under the BPA, SAIC will be in charge of providing operations and maintenance support services as required in support of the National Level Ammunition Capability (NLAC) operations, which includes the implementation of new technologies to help better its activities.
