    Aneesh Chopra Named Speaker at Annual FedTalks 2011

    Aneesh Chopra will be one of this year’s keynote speakers at FedTalks 2011. Chopra, who is the chief technology officer (CTO) at the Executive Office of the President, will be at the largest gathering of the most influential executives in D.C. and Silicon Valley.

    C-Level executives from federal agencies, tech industries, Congress, academia and the media industry will be attending to discuss ways technology has the power to change government. This year’s topics include: Innovation, Leadership, Leveraging Technology to Lower the Cost of Government, Open Government, and Citizen Engagement. FedTalks will be held this October 11, 2011 at the Warner Theatre in Washington D.C.

    As the CTO, Chopra is in charge of being an Assistant to the President as well being the Associate Director for Technology in the Office of Science and Technology Policy. Chopra has advanced President Obama’s technology agenda by generating new ideas and encouraging government-wide coordination to help the United States meet its goals in areas of job creation, the health care industry and homeland security. 

    Prior to becoming CTO, Chopra served as the Secretary of Technology for the Commonwealth of Virginia and as a Managing Director with the Advisory Board Company. Chopra has been named as one of Government Technology Magazine’s Top 25 Doers, Dreamers and Drivers in their 2008 issue. Chopra is a graduate of John Hopkins University and Harvard’s Kennedy School.
