Satya Akula has been named as the next president and CEO of an Alexandria-based information technology company Amyx, Inc.

Akula, who was the former COO of Amyx, previously founded his own company AC Technologies, Inc. (ACT) in 1993. As CEO of ACT, Akula used his talent to acquire major clients and initiate quality practices to expand ACT as being one of the premier IT companies in the Washington D.C. region. Akula was listed as a finalist for Washington D.C.’s 2002 Entrepreneur of the Year award and was the recipient of the ASEs NCC Entrepreneur of the Year Award in 2003.

Scott Amey, who is the current president and CEO, will step down to take the role of Chairman of the Board for Amyx. Since Amey joined Amyx in 2008, the company has doubled its revenue and number of employees. Amyx has also won many awards as being one of the country’s fastest growing private companies by Inc. Magazine.

Amyx is an IT and program management services provider to the federal government and a strong ISO 9001-2008 certified small business. The company’s services include Business Process Reengineering, Information Technology, Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance, Software Design and Development, and Program and Acquisition Management. Amyx was founded in 1999 and takes pride in its professional workforce, some who have over 25 years of experience.
