Department of Justice Launces New Website: CrimeSolutions.gov

The Department of Justice’s Office of Justice Programs (OJP) launched a new website called CrimeSolutions.gov on June 22.  The novel site is a reliable and principal resource to inform experts and policymakers about what works in the fields of criminal justice, juvenile justice and crime victim services.

The website itself has over 150 justice programs and appoints “evidence ratings” to mark whether a program is accomplishing its goals.  The website is also a searchable online database of evidence-based programs spanning over a range of justice topics such as corrections, courts, crime prevention, law enforcement, forensics and victims.

In addition, CrimeSolution.gov can comprehend access and combine evidence about programs into programmatic and policy decisions.

“CrimeSolutions.gov helps us take a ‘smart on crime’ approach that relies on data-driven, evidence-based analysis to identify and replicate justice-related programs that have shown real results in preventing and reducing crime and serving crime victims,” said Laurie O. Robinson, Assistant Attorney General.

The website is joined with Evidence Integration Initiative (E2l) launched in 2009 by Assistant Attorney General Robinson.
