Vencore Chief Engineer Kristy Clark urged the next generation of would-be STEM workers to not only strengthen their skills in science, technology, math and engineering but also to focus on interpersonal skills and core values.

“Regardless of what you choose as your career, wherever you go in life, the biggest thing that guides me is just to do unto others as you would have them do unto you,” Clark told an audience at WashingtonExec’s 2018 K-12 STEM Symposium at Nysmith School for the Gifted on April 14.

Clark spoke on one of several panels during the event that brought together more than 4,000 attendees from government, corporate, academic, nonprofit and other fields in addition to many students and parents. Vencore was a gold sponsor.

Vencore Program Manager Johnny Martin brought flight simulators for attendees. Volunteers Jake Federico, Justin Grant, Briten Lollie, Zahid Noori, Bradley Raley, Joe Reavley, Sapana Acharya and Mizan Zeleke shared with attendees about their STEM backgrounds while introducing students and parents to Vencore.

For more than 40 years, Vencore has provided information solutions, engineering and analysis to the intelligence community, Defense Department and federal and civilian agencies.
