SRA International, a Fairfax, Va.-based IT service provider, is partnering with the Climate Protection Partnership Division (CPPD) of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to through IT support reduce greenhouse gas emissions, the company announced last week.

The $38 million five-year blanket purchase agreement (BPA) commits SRA to provide software engineering,  infrastructure management, systems integration, technical customer support, website development and maintenance for the agency’s ENERGY STAR program.

Paul Nedzbala, the executive vice president of SRA’s Health and Civil group — consolidated in December to incorporate the previous Civil Government and Health Groups —  said the company is eager to continue its partnership with the EPA’s ENERGY STAR program.

“The combined expertise of the SRA team and our EPA colleagues fosters the development and implementation of innovative technologies that improve the program’s reach and effectiveness,” Nedzbala said.

CPPD and ENERGY STAR together aim to reduce greenhouse gas emissions through voluntary programs and public/private partnerships.

SRA has created and maintained systems which allow ENERGY STAR to “track and manage relationships with partners, enable submission of certified ENERGY STAR products from third parties through a Qualified Products Exchange, support reporting of ENERGY STAR certified homes, and maintain the ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager,” the company said.
