SOS International LLC served as one of eight major sponsors of the 2016 Army Ten-Miler held Oct. 9 in Washington, D.C., and hosted a shadow race at Camp Taji, Iraq. More than 500 U.S. and coalition military personnel, contractors and SOSi employees participated in the Iraq race.

“We are privileged to support organizations making a positive impact in our community and on our armed forces and their families,” SOSi President and CEO Julian Setian said. “I enjoyed running in this year’s Army Ten-Miler with my SOSi colleagues and our Mission Continues partners. Hooah!”

Setian led the company’s team of runners again this year at the race held in D.C. He was joined by 10 military veterans from Mission Continues, a nonprofit organization that empowers veterans who are adjusting to life at home to find purpose through community impact, deploying them to serve locally. SOSi is the corporate sponsor for the Mission Continues’ newest “platoon” based in Washington, D.C.

This first annual “Taji 10-Miler” gave troops and civilians serving in Iraq a chance to join in on the Army Ten-Miler from across the globe. SOSi currently provides base life support services to thousands of U.S. and coalition soldiers stationed in Iraq in Support of Operation Inherent Resolve. SOSi’s racing team in Taji was led by SOSi’s Vice President for Mission Solutions Group, retired Lt. Gen. Frank Helmick.
