SAIC announced today it was awarded a task order by the Indian Health Service (IHS) to help replace its Electronic Dental Record (EDR) system. The $17 task order has a one-year base period of performance, four one-year options and was awarded under the General Services Administration’s Alliant government-wide acquisition contract.
Under the terms of the task order, SAIC will continue functional support for all phases of the EDR implementation associated with interface, security, testing, task management, administration, program oversight, and to manage improvements to the practice management tools available to IHS dental clinics through a software product solution.
“We look forward to continuing our support of the Indian Health Service’s electronic dental record deployment program, and helping the agency achieve its goal of improving access to and the quality of care,” said Steve Comber, senior vice president and group general manager at SAIC. “Portions of SAIC are to be renamed Leidos, following SAIC’s planned separation into two independent, publicly traded companies, subject to board of directors approval, as previously announced.”
The IHS, an agency within the Department of Health and Human Services, is responsible for providing federal health services to American Indians and Alaska Natives.
Work will be performed at Rockville, Md. and locations across the continental U.S. and Alaska.
