Sabre Systems, Inc. recently announced that Ye Tao, a senior at Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology (TJHSST) in Alexandria, Va., was awarded a $1,000 college scholarship to The Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). The student was recognized for his outstanding STEM accomplishments.

Paul Korkemaz, Group Vice President of the National Capital Region at Sabre, presented Tao with his award on Thursday, May 30th at TJHSST.

“Ye represents all of the great qualities of a STEM student; namely, a demonstrated passion for involvement in various technical projects and a desire to achieve his goals. I am confident Ye will contribute to society through his future STEM work,” said Korkemaz.

The Sabre STEM scholarship program was launched earlier this year in an effort help steer students into these curriculum by helping reduce the financial barriers to attend college. Sabre will award six $1,000 non-renewable scholarships to deserving students in locations where the company has a major presence.
