The finalists for WashingtonExec’s 2023 Pinnacle Awards were announced Sept. 25, and we’ll be highlighting some of them until the event takes place live, in-person Nov. 16.

Next is HR Executive of the Year finalist in a Private Company with an annual revenue less than $250M Debbie Peterson, who is senior vice president of people and culture at MetroStar. Here, she shares proud moments and her focus going forward.

What are you most proud of having been a part of in your current organization?

I am most proud of spending the last ten years growing within MetroStar and seeing the impact our programs have had on our people.

What are your primary focuses areas going forward, and why are those so important to the future of the nation?

My primary focus moving forward is to ensure we adapt to the data evolution and find scalable and ethical ways to implement AI in a way that propels our people forward.

Meet the other Pinnacle Awards finalists here.
