In a move to grow its intelligence and defense customer base, Octo has purchased Connexta, a provider of open source software development and secure discovery solutions.

The combined entity creates Octo as the go-to expert in the data interoperability, application programming interfaces and user interface arenas for geospatial search and discovery solutions and combat systems, according to the company.

Following the acquisition, Connexta will operate as an own subsidiary of Octo.

Calling the acquisition “a huge win for both firms,” Octo CEO Mehul Sanghani said his company is now adding a team “that shares the same commitment to customer success that we do, and we’re only going to enhance these qualities as we integrate.”

“Connexta’s culture also dovetails perfectly with Octo’s, which will only help make integrating our two firms smoother and allow us to maintain our unique culture in the marketplace,” he added.

Bob Kipps, managing director of KippsDeSanto who advised Connexta on the combination, said: “I can’t think of a recent industry transaction that is a better fit and compelling next generation business proposition. Kudos to Connexta, Octo and Arlington Capital!”
