Investment bank KippsDeSanto & Co. announced Sept. 7 its client, Fairfax, Virginia-based Information Management Technology, has been acquired by Mission Essential Personnel, LLC. This deal closed Aug. 3 and marks KippsDeSanto & Co.’s sixth transaction of 2016.

IMT provides advanced technical solutions for critical global intelligence dissemination systems supporting the Defense Department, the intelligence community and Five Eye coalition forces.

The company’s capabilities complement Mission Essential’s existing mission-focused solutions and establishes Mission Essential as a key player in the IBS enterprise and C4ISR market.

KippsDeSanto & Co. noted this transaction demonstrates several key trends in the Intel and C4ISR M&A environment:

  • Mid-sized strategic buyers continue to seek M&A opportunities to enhance depth of technology, proprietary solutions, and intellectual property to complement existing offerings and improve market sector positioning
  • Value of strategic customer access and deeply embedded positions on mission critical programs in support of evolving forward operator requirements
  • Companies with differentiated and innovative solutions in support of highly visible and critical C4ISR missions continue to be in high demand
