NIH Awards Sotera Defense Prime Position On $20 Billion Cio-Sp3 IT Solutions Services Contract

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) awarded Sotera Defense Solutions (Sotera), a $20 billion Chief Information Officer – Solutions and Partners 3 (CIO-SP3) indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract vehicle for health and biomedical-related IT services, cloud computing and cybersecurity initiatives.

The CIO-SP3 contract vehicle is ten-year government wide acquisition contract (GWAC), and can be used by any federal civilian or department of Defense (DOD).  Sotera received prime position.

“We are pleased to be awarded this prime position on the CIO-SP3 contract.  This vehicle provides an excellent opportunity for Sotera and our teaming partners to deliver a wide range of mission-critical IT services and solutions to our national security customers and the flexibility to bring our innovative approach to support the mission-needs of an expanded customer base,,” commented Sotera Defense CEO John Hillen.

Sortera will collaborate with the Interdisciplinary Center for Applied Mathematics (ICAM) at Virginia Tech and the Virginia Tech-Wake Forest University School of Biomedical Engineering and Sciences (SBES), By merging these universitites’ specializations in biomedical engineering and advanced IT solutions with Sotera’s knowledge of counterterrorism, data analytics, data fusion and cyber security, the partnership will create innovative products and services for consumers.
