Cybersecurity and cloud provider VariQ has won an indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract with the State Department’s Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs, Office of Western Hemisphere Programs.

“We are honored to have been selected to support the U.S. Department of State with the enhancement of technologies to strengthen transnational criminal interdiction, while furthering partnerships across the Western hemisphere,” VariQ CEO Ben Edson said.

The $350 million IDIQ supports IT solutions to enhance international drug control, develop civilian law enforcement capacity, regional partnerships and information sharing. It is one of three anticipated State Department INL contracts that seek to exploit new and existing technologies around information fusion systems, advanced biometrics, cloud computing and mobile capabilities, and agile delivery methodologies.

The contract calls on VariQ to build information fusion systems within Latin America and the Caribbean. VariQ’s national security portfolio also includes support of the Department of Homeland Security’s Office of Biometric Identity Management, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration, U.S. Coast Guard, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, DHS headquarters and the Defense Intelligence Agency.
