Reston, Va.-based Pragmatics announced March 23 that the U.S. Air Force (USAF) has awarded the company a series of task orders to engineer, furnish, integrate and test Enhanced 911 (E911) systems for several USAF facilities. The task orders have a combined value of more than $1 million.
“Pragmatics is honored to assist the Air Force in implementing Enhanced 911 systems capabilities to improve force protection for airmen, their dependents, and their coworkers on Air Force installations service wide,” Pragmatics COO Joe Brock said. “We are proud to support the USAF in successfully achieving this goal.”
The task orders were awarded under the Information Technology Enterprise Solutions-2 (ITES-2) contract.
The system enables direct delivery of E911 calls to a Dept. of Defense-staffed Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP), eliminating the need for local civilian PSAPs to perform intermediate call answering.
Pragmatics is currently establishing E911 capabilities at Moody AFB, Georgia; Vandenberg AFB, California; and Joint Base Charleston, South Carolina, in partnership with Black Box Network Services.
