Mission critical solutions provider Peraton has secured two awards from the Defense Information Systems Agency’s Defense Spectrum Organization worth up to $23 million over 5 years.
The first award is a recompete for Advanced Wireless Services Licensee Early Entry Coordination Support. Peraton is to provide technical services in support of DSO and its activities associated with AWS-3 Licensee early access coordination.
The second DSO award is a new contract to develop the AWS-3 2025-2110 MHz Spectrum Management/Coordination System. As a result of the 2015 spectrum auction sale, the Defense Department is relocating some communications equipment to work in a different band of the spectrum and in the future will share spectrum with the electronic news gathering community.
Private sector auction winners were able to gain early access to new spectrum over 5 years before DOD contractually guaranteed it, said John Coleman, Peraton’s president of defense and homeland security sector.
“Our work on these two awards will allow Peraton to expand our spectrum software-related capabilities, deepen our experience in spectrum sharing solutions, and reinforce our standing in the information warfare space,” he added.
