Parsons to Support $1.1M Army Munitions Identification and Recovery Effort

Parsons Corp. announced the award of a potential 10-year, $1.1 billion multiple award task order contract by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

The new award will support USACE Huntsville in meeting environmental and munitions response challenges. This will enable lands and waters to be safely and efficiently used for their intended purposes by wildlife refuge, military use or community development.

“For more than 20 years, Parsons has partnered with USACE Huntsville in the identification and recovery of munitions. We are committed to bringing the latest technologies to safely and efficiently deliver on their environmental remediation and munitions response needs,” said Jon Moretta, president of engineered systems for Parsons.

The Chemical, Environmental and Munitions Response Unrestricted contract supports Military Munitions Response Program responses. This ranges conventional munitions and chemical warfare materiel, environmental compliance and remediation services and other munitions-related services.

Under the contract, Parsons will deploy solutions to remediate munitions, explosives of concern, and hazardous, toxic, and radioactive waste at current and former defense sites. These capabilities include geophysical classification, digital geophysical mapping, innovative drone applications, robotic munitions recovery and underwater munitions identification and recovery.
