The United States Patent and Trademark Office has awarded Octo Consulting Group a five-year contract worth up to $115 million.

Octo Consulting Group, led by CEO and President Mehul Sanghani, will provide infrastructure, design, engineering and architecture services as well as integration (IDEAI-2), according to a company press release circulated Monday.

The company and its teaming partners will provide the USPTO independent, objective and expert technical advice and assistance for ongoing and future information technology initiatives, as well as provide the agency unbiased, third-party reviews of other government contractors’ plans, performance and products.

“Octo is honored to have been selected by USPTO to expand our work with the agency and help move it towards an optimized, on-demand service-oriented infrastructure that is scalable and meets the agency’s future IT needs,” said Jay Shah, executive vice president of Octo Consulting Group.

Starting in early May, Octo Consulting Group will provide system design and engineering support to the patent and trademark application processing and examination functions, USPTO management and administrative systems and the agency’s processes for the dissemination of patent and trademark information to the public.

“The IDEAI-2 award exemplifies Octo’s strategy of providing solutions that enable complex missions and points to our strength as a trusted, innovative partner in the federal civilian market.”

Octo Consulting Group’s delivery of IDEAI-2 services provide solutions that utilize best practices such as Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL ®) and IT Service Management, according to the company.

Octo Consulting Group currently supports the USPTO by providing engineering and technical advisory support services, storage infrastructure assessments and user-centered design principles for the Patent Trial and Appeals Board infrastructure.
