Amentum has won a $91.8 million contract from the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division to will support the Navy’s national security mission through its work in electromagnetic and sensor systems.

Mark Walter, president of Amentum’s Engineering & Technology Group, said the company is well positioned to help the Navy strengthen its sensor systems with innovative, adaptable and cost-effective solutions.

“With extensive expertise in Naval sensors and software, supported by the advanced capabilities of our Software Center—housing multiple unclassified and classified software development labs and holding CMMi Level 3 certification—we ensure mission success and deliver impactful outcomes,” he said.

Under the contract, Amentum will use model-based systems engineering to shift from a document-centric to a model-centric approach, increasing efficiency and accuracy.

The company will provide real-time, mission-critical software engineering across sensor data collection, exploitation, fusion, modeling and concept development. Work includes software design, configuration and data management, DevSecOps, data science, tool and technology development, prototyping and tech demonstrations.

The 5.5-year effort begins Jan. 16, 2026, and will support the Electromagnetic and Sensor Systems Department at NSWCDD locations in Dahlgren and Fredericksburg, Virginia.
