Enlighten IT Consulting, a MacAulay-Brown Inc. company, has been awarded a prime contract to provide big data platform sustainment and engineering services to the U.S. Cyber Command.

Enlighten’s cybersecurity experts, data scientists and cloud software engineers will adapt and enhance existing big data platform, which can apply a cloud-based set of analytics and visualization tools to data from across the Defense Department information networks.

The contract covers the processing and storing of packet capture, development of cyber analytics to identify suspicious and anomalous activity, big data cyber hunting, data acquisition and enhancement of the BDP tool suite, according to Enlighten IT Consulting.

Shawn Justice, senior vice president and general manager of Enlighten IT Consulting, said the contract will allow his firm to deliver innovative proof-of-concept prototypes to support the Cyber National Mission Force.

“We want to continue establishing ourselves as thought leaders and industry innovators with regard to big data analytics, machine learning, and overall coordination with mission partners within the Cyber Command community,” Justice said.

Enlighten will also conduct user testing activities with cyber protection and network defense teams, as well as the broader cyber community, the company said.

Enlighten IT Consulting,  headquartered in Linthicum Heights, Maryland, was acquired by MacB in December 2016.
