ASRC Federal Wins USDA Contract to Help Farmers, Ranchers Conserve Land, Water

SWStaff Writer|1 min read|January 22, 2023

ASRC Federal subsidiary Highland Technology has been re-awarded the METIS ART contract by the Agriculture Department’s Farm Production and Conservation Business Center Conservation Section.

Valued at over $100 million with a performance period through 2025, this program supports the Natural Resources Conservation Service.

Under the contract, the team will develop, modernize, enhance and maintain information systems, software applications, web services and databases that support conservation technical assistance for farmers and ranchers.

NRCS provides farmers and ranchers with financial and technical assistance so they can voluntarily conserve and measure environmental impacts. The company will leverage its Scaled Agile Framework principles and methods to help with agile product development. This framework also allows it to deliver customer-centric software to meet the needs of NRCS.

For instance, the team integrated data on individual carbon emission mitigation practices into reports NRCS customers can use in voluntary government conservation programs. This way, the program can analyze the impacts of carbon sequestration efforts.
