Amentum has secured a $490 million contract with the U.S. Navy to provide logistics support for the T-54A Multi-Engine Training System, which will replace the aging T-44C aircraft.
In collaboration with the Navy and original equipment manufacturer Textron, Amentum will help modernize the Navy’s training aircraft fleet. Through its fleet management for the METS program, Amentum aims to enhance pilot training for the Navy’s multi-engine platform, shaping the future of naval aviation.
The METS program will prepare Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard and select allied pilots to transition into advanced multi-engine and tilt-rotor aircraft, including the V-22 Osprey, E-2D Hawkeye, C-130 Hercules and P-8 Poseidon, supporting operational readiness through 2055.

Amentum delivers ready-for-production aircraft for daily training missions, along with critical training on full system maintenance, service, and repair of avionics, airframes and power plants.

The task order transition phase began June 1, with full performance starting Sept. 1 under the CMMARS IDIQ multiple-award contract. The contract, issued through Naval Air Systems Command, includes a 1-year base period and four 1-year option periods.
