Aviation services provider Akima announced its subsidiary Akima Logistics Services has been selected as an awardee on the Kits, Recovery, Augmentation, Components and Engines, or KRACEn, Multiple Award Contract supporting the U.S. Navy.

“We are excited to be part of the KRACEn contract and eager to immediately provide value through our agility and experience,” said Scott Rauer, president of Akima’s Facilities Solutions Group. “This award further demonstrates Akima’s proven ability to provide customers with world-class aircraft maintenance services in support of their most critical efforts.”

The Commander, Fleet Readiness Centers awarded a 10-year, $6.1 billion, enterprise contract vehicle to 42 small business industry partners on April 14, enabling Navy, government customers and international partners to quicker procure aircraft maintenance services and sustainment support.

Akima Logistics Services will help enable the centers to use the KRACEn enterprise contract vehicle to allow the Navy to meet its sustainment needs while delivering better outcomes, said COMFRC Executive Director Roy Harris.

“KRACEn is a crucial addition to our traditional organic capabilities, providing us with the means to tap into the expertise of small business industry partners,” Harris added.

KRACEn is an indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity MAC providing maintenance services and support for single satellite sites, small aircraft quantities, personnel to augment government maintenance teams, and overhaul capabilities for aircraft components and subsystems.

This is COMFRC’s first, multibillion contract award.
