VariQ founder and chief executive Ben Edson is a finalist for the Entrepreneur of The Year 2019 Mid-Atlantic Award, which recognizes entrepreneurs and leaders of businesses excelling in areas such as innovation, financial performance and personal commitment to their businesses and communities.

“I am honored to have been named a finalist for the Entrepreneur of the Year Program, and for this recognition of VariQ as ranking among the boldest and most innovative organizations in the Mid-Atlantic region,” Edson said. “I want to congratulate the VariQ team for enabling VariQ to provide cutting-edge services to our federal, state and local government.”

Edson is a specialist in cybersecurity, systems design and integration and program management. His entrepreneurial vision and passion for excellence propelled VariQ from a single-employee startup in 2003 to a dynamic mid-tier company.

Headquartered in Rockville, Maryland, VariQ provides cybersecurity, software development and cloud services to over 20 federal, state, and local government departments and agencies.

Winners will be announced June 13.
