According to Jack Wilmer, one of the major challenges the public sector will face in 2024 is protecting sensitive government information on contractor networks from adversaries. The federal government has done a good job of shoring up its defenses over the past decade, and malicious cyber actors are increasingly shifting the focus of their attacks to industry.

The aggregation of sensitive information across contractor networks can be as damaging as breaches of government networks, and the majority of industry needs to vastly improve its cybersecurity posture to stave off these progressively sophisticated attacks.

Why Watch

“Given the challenges that our customers are facing, Core4ce is more focused than ever on recruiting top tech talent to support mission-driven work,” Wilmer said. “By building relationships with universities, expanding our internship program, and joining forces with well-established subject matter experts, we’re working to drive value for our customers and create fulfilling professional opportunities for our team members.”

Core4ce is focused on four core capability areas comprising digital modernization, offensive and defensive cyber operations, analysis and engineering. Historically, Core4ce has a strong track record in defense health IT for building, modernizing and defending networks and applications for the Military Health System. That mission ⏤ supporting service members and veterans ⏤ is incredibly important to Core4ce, as it can apply many of the lessons learned across the broader critical infrastructure sector.

Core4ce believes there’s a vital need for public and private sector organizations to externally validate their cyber defenses, which is why the company added vulnerability assessments to its service offerings this year. Through the innovation incubator, Core4ce is also developing forward-looking solutions across the full data lifecycle of government to provide customers with timely intelligence on the latest cyber threats.

“Jack’s experience serving as Chief Information Security Officer for DOD has really helped shape the services Core4ce provides today and the solutions we’re developing for tomorrow,” said Michael Morehouse, managing partner at Core4ce. “Under his leadership, Core4ce is not only working to defend our nation’s most critical networks against adversaries, but also investing in innovative, data-centric projects to ensure mission readiness on the cyber battlefield.”
