Heather M. Gerczak’s biggest recent achievement was serving as NCMA board chair for program year 2025. As one of the youngest individuals to hold that role, she said it was important to honor the heritage and evolution of the contract management profession while embracing modern advancements. Serving as board chair stands out as a major professional milestone that reflects her commitment to elevating the profession.

Fun Fact: Gerczak is most proud of her family’s legacy of service. Her great-uncle enlisted in the U.S. Coast Guard, and one of the service’s new fast-response cutters is named after him. The vessel is stationed in Honolulu, underscoring how deeply public service runs in her family.
