Koczan’s most recent achievement was helping lead internal and external financial advisory teams through the necessary and highly complex due diligence processes to successfully complete two acquisitions — Creoal Consulting and Outside Analytics. SMX acquired both companies within 30 days of each other at the end of 2023.

The recently acquired companies are now well on their way to being fully integrated throughout 2024 into a singular system/structure to optimize client delivery across their respective addressable markets. The finance team will be highly focused on the successful integration and to help position them for long term growth under the SMX umbrella.
The team will also be heavily focused on various business automation initiatives to continue to provide actionable insights into company performance via various intelligent methods such as workflows, dashboards, analysis products and more.
Fun fact: Koczan loves to cook and has taken cooking classes in Washington, D.C., Florence, Italy, and Paris, France. “We are planning a trip in 2025 to learn how to make true Neapolitan Pizza in Naples, Italy, as our existing efforts could use some improved techniques!” he said.
